Future Human Project is built on principles taken from decades of careers in education, enterprise and life experience. We have chosen Da Vinci Life-Skills (DVLS) as our curriculum partner for 9-16 year olds, who share our vision and values for young people.

The Future Human Project Skills Curriculum is built around five dynamic project-based learning pathways that offer real-world, interdisciplinary, and student-led experiences.
Each pathway blends core academic skills with creativity, problem-solving, and purpose.
Learners explore, plan, create, reflect, and share projects supported by mentors and peer collaboration.

A school is nothing if it doesn’t have community and celebration at its heart.
Friday is ‘Village Day’, when we engage with community, explore real-world challenges, and celebrate culture, nature, and time together. These experiential learning opportunities are for students, mentors, families and stakeholders. From guest speakers and workshops, to trips, celebrations and collaboration.
We are intentionally building an intergenerational community rooted in purpose and place far beyond the classroom walls. Learning happens through field experiences, service, storytelling, and connection.
Just as we’ve chosen to live beyond our home countries, our students grow by embracing a world beyond the conventional, learning through life itself.
Our Approach
As parents, entrepreneurs and educators, we believe the school system is preparing kids for a future that won’t exist. Career paths are already changing, leaving young people unprepared for the evolving world of work. We see life as a project - so training young people in a project-based mindset is key to their future success. Future Human School offers a fun, real-world, skills-based alternative where creativity, collaboration and communication build confidence through value and passion.
The Da Vinci Life-Skills Curriculum

Mentors Not Teachers
Our Mentorship Model replaces teachers with mentors. As well as class mentors we have an incredible network of mentors from the worlds of sustainability, enterprise, hospitality, travel, blockchain, permaculture, finance and the arts to mentor and support our young people with real world and tangible experience and advice.
Growth Not Grades
Our assessments are formative, narrative, and student-led. They take the form of digital and written portfolios, mentor check-ins, peer feedback, daily self-evaluations and DVQs (Da Vinci Qualifications).

A Classroom with Connection
Future Human School is situated within a beautiful yoga resort just south of Ubud. We’re surrounded by jungle and lush green space, tucked down a quiet street in a vibrant area of town, with sports facilities, cafés and restaurants nearby. The subak waterway flows gently through the grounds, creating a calm, serene setting where students can engage in real-world learning aligned with the rhythms of the land.
Nature is not a backdrop - it’s our classroom. A space for growth and a vital part of preparing for a more connected, regenerative future.
Our main schoolhouse is bright and spacious, set within abundant gardens and complete with yoga shalas and intimate breakout areas for deeper reflection. A nourishing vegetarian restaurant supports our growing future humans at lunchtime and we host and participate in live events and a rich programme of experiences - serving both our close-knit school family and the wider Ubud community.

Project Pathway Calendar
Term 4: Biomimicry & Sustainable Product Design Pathway + PEP
March 30th - 5th June 2026
Biomimicry & sustainable product design: Students experience Bali as a classroom understanding how modern industry affects the natural world. They will tackle real-world challenges through collaborative critical thinking. They’ll learn team dynamics, apply biomimicry and human-centred design and design and prototype a practical product solution to a real problem in Bali - aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Cross-curricular learning includes subject areas such as Design Technology, Physics, Maths and Business Studies.
Alongside this, students work on their Personal Exploration Projects (PEPs) - individual or small group inquiries into passions, creative ideas, or real-world problems they want to explore with mentor support.
Term 1: Entrepreneurship Pathway + PEP
August 10th - October 9th 2026
Entrepreneurship Pathway: Students become problem-solvers and creators, working on real-world challenges through innovation and enterprise. From sustainable product design to business models, they take ideas from prototype to pitch.
Cross-curricular learning includes subject areas such as Design Technology, Physics, Maths, and Business Studies.
Alongside this, students work on their Personal Exploration Projects (PEPs) - individual or small group inquiries into passions, creative ideas, or real-world problems they want to explore with mentor support.
Term 2: Production Pathway + PEP
October 26th - December 18th 2026
Production Pathway: Students explore storytelling and creativity through media-rich projects like films, exhibitions, performances, and live events. They develop ideas from concept to completion - researching, designing, planning, and managing their own productions.
Cross-curricular learning includes subject areas such as Art & Design, Media, Drama, Music, and Science.
Alongside this, students work on their Personal Exploration Projects (PEPs) - individual or small group inquiries into passions, creative ideas, or real-world problems they want to explore with mentor support.
Term 3: Food Pathway + PEP
January 18th - 25th March 2027
Food Pathway: This term focuses on food from every angle - growing, preparing, sharing, and understanding the global systems behind it. Students explore the ethics, science and sustainability of food, working on projects like pop-up cafés, food gardens or fermentation experiments.
Cross-curricular learning includes subject areas such as Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Food Technology.
Alongside this, students work on their Personal Exploration Projects (PEPs) - individual or small group inquiries into passions, creative ideas, or real-world problems they want to explore with mentor support.
Term 4: Multiverse Gaming Pathway + PEP
April 12th - 11th June 2027
Multi-verse games pathway: Students design their own games and immersive worlds, using history and global cultures as inspiration. They create characters, build storylines, and explore game mechanics, all while developing collaboration and strategic thinking.
Cross-curricular learning includes subject areas such as English, History, Geography, and Design Technology.
Alongside this, students work on their Personal Exploration Projects (PEPs) - individual or small group inquiries into passions, creative ideas, or real-world problems they want to explore with mentor support.
Nutritious, Wholesome School Lunches
At Future Human School, we place a strong emphasis on nutrition to support the growth and development of our students. With the right balance of ingredients, meals provide steady energy, prevent afternoon dips and keep young minds and bodies well-fuelled throughout the day.
Our school lunches are freshly prepared daily and thoughtfully designed by the on-site restaurant. Every dish is wholesome, delicious and nourishing. The menu offers a vegetarian mix of Western favourites and Balinese flavours, ensuring variety and balance in every meal. Ingredients are locally sourced and largely organic - designed with both taste and well-being for our future humans in mind.
